In this course, learners will take a look at an integrative approach to patient care, combining complementary and alternative treatments in addition to medical therapies commonly applied in rheumatology.

Target Audience
The target audience for the forum includes registered nurses (RNs), nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), and other healthcare professionals who are engaged in clinical practice, education, research, and advocacy for the care of adult and pediatric patients with rheumatic diseases.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify the current trends of practices impacting age appropriate care and treatment of the rheumatology patient.
  2. Incorporate into practice the current state of the science and research in several common and rare rheumatic diseases.
  3. Interpret exam findings and employ best practices for patients with rheumatic diseases.
  4. Identify the risk factors in evaluating patient responses to disease severity and treatments.

Accreditation Statement:
The Rheumatology Nurses Society is accredited with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (Provider No. P0500).

Participants will receive 0.75 hours of continuing nursing contact hours by completing the education,completing an online evaluation, and receiving a post-test score of 70%.
