A Message from the RNS President
Dear RNS Members, Colleagues, and Friends,
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to rheumatology patients during this intense health crisis. The Rheumatology Nurses Society (RNS) is grateful for your continued support in the commitment to the development and education of healthcare professionals to benefit its members, patients, family, and the community. This mission is even more imperative than ever before to lead rheumatology healthcare professionals to excellence in the care of patients with rheumatic diseases. The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has immensely changed the way we do things in 2020, as we all know too well. On April 21, 2020, the RNS Board of Directors voted unanimously to convert the 2020 13th Annual Rheumatology Nurses Society Conference to an online platform, hosting a completely virtual conference in August of 2020. It is for the safety and well being of all of our patients, nurses, advanced practice providers, supporters, partners, and friends that this difficult decision was made.
This is the “Year of the Nurse,” and the RNS is excited to present to you a reimagined conference experience that will be like no other. Nurses are the backbone of our culture, and the RNS is poised to celebrate and honor our nurses, who continue to be on the frontline of our healthcare system. It is important to us that we preserve many of the experiences, like networking opportunities, quality engagement, and the best in rheumatology education for both the nurse and the advanced practice provider, while providing new experiences, that will make this conference impactful, educational, and special for you. Detailed information will be announced soon through email, social media, and the RNS website.
The RNS remains steadfast to provide the resources that you need during this unique season. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
We invite you to our weekly RNS COVID-19 Virtual Town Hall held each Thursday from 6:30 PM EST until 7:30 PM EST on the RNS Facebook page. Please also visit the RNS COVID-19 Resources and Guidelines for additional information regarding rheumatology and COVID-19.
Thank you for being an essential cornerstone to this amazing society that has become like family. This is YOUR Rheumatology Nurses Society, and we are here for each other through this time.
Cathy Patty-Resk MSN, RN-BC, CPNP-PC
