The NYU Seminar in Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis is an informative conference for rheumatologists, dermatologists, orthopedists, health care providers, trainees in the rheumatic/dermatologic diseases, internists and other physicians with a special interest in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. The course will review and address those areas where recent, solid knowledge in the basic science and treatment of psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis and related conditions is available, focusing particularly on the state-of-the-art in the field, at the leading edge between new clinical knowledge and its translation into practice. Rheumatology and dermatology, and specifically psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, are fast-moving fields in which new discoveries are continually being made, and new treatment modalities are being developed. Because the basic and clinical scientific underpinnings of rheumatologic-dermatologic practice frequently and directly come to impact upon therapy, this course will also explore those areas of new science that are likely to prove important to the near-future management of patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
