Dr. Amanda “Mandy” Karam is a pediatric nurse practitioner in Pediatric Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins University. She earned her BSN from Towson University and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Maryland. She began her career at Hopkins in 2012 as a pediatric PACU clinical nurse extern, later spending nearly a decade in pediatric emergency nursing. Since transitioning to rheumatology in 2021 as a pediatric nurse practitioner, she is dedicated to improving quality, safety, and patient-centered care for children with complex rheumatic diseases. Dr. Karam also serves as Editor-in-Chief for the pediatric section of the Rheumatology Advanced Practice Providers (RhAPP) Quarterly Newsletter, supporting education and collaboration among rheumatology advanced practice providers.
