Essentials of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound: Diagnostic and Interventional Skills

This 3 day hands-on workshop for physicians, sonographers, PAs, NPs and nurses will provide them with an opportunity to learn ultrasound principles and operation, including presentations of proper scanning techniques for the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle with demonstrations of those techniques by knowledgeable and experienced faculty. Along with a review of sonographic imaging of normal anatomy, there will be a review of pathologies encountered followed by hands-on instructions in scanning. To complete the course, interventional techniques will be discussed and demonstrated during hands-on lab.
Two tracks will be offered:
- Track A, designed for those with 0-1 year of experience, will include the following agenda: Shoulder Hands-On/ Q and A, Rotator Cuff Tears and Biceps Tendon, Shoulder Procedures – Joint, SASD Bursa and Biceps, Elbow and Wrist Hands-On, Epicondylosis and UCL Injuries, Common Wrist Pathology, Hip and Thigh Hands-On, Common Hip Pathology, Knee and Ankle Hands-On, Baker’s Cyst and Guided Procedures, Ankle Tendons and Ligaments
- Track B, designed for those with 1+ years of experience, will include the following agenda: Shoulder Hands-On/ Q and A, Rotator Cuff and Other Shoulder Pathology, Rotator Cuff Calcific Tendinitis Lavage and SASD Bursa, Epicondylosis and Distal Biceps Tear, Common Wrist Pathology, Elbow and Wrist Hands-On, Snapping Hip and Groin Injury, Hip and Thigh Hands-on, Extensor Mechanism and the MCL, Achilles, Plantar Fascia and Common Procedures, Knee and Ankle Hands-On.
