Course Description:

This informative webinar is specifically designed for rheumatology nurses and advanced practice providers seeking to enhance their understanding of best practices for Psoriatic Arthritis detection and diagnosis through telemedicine visits. Developed by an expert rheumatology nurse in the field, this comprehensive session will delve into the disease state, including its etiology and pathophysiology, and provide strategies for patient management through telemedicine services. Attendees will leave with an enhanced understanding of the importance of telemedicine consultations in the context of rheumatoid arthritis patient care and will be equipped with the knowledge necessary to implement best practices in their practice.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of the tactics described in this educational initiative, learners will be able to:

  • Define and describe common rheumatic disease treatments and therapies to patients through a telemedicine visit.
  • Identify the current opportunities and potential barriers to the implementation of telemedicine visits throughout the United States.
  • Improve the knowledge and competency of healthcare professionals that treat rheumatological conditions regarding mechanisms that drive development of disease and treatment options.
  • Apply treatment strategies for rheumatological conditions in response to changing needs of providers and patients.

Target Audience:

The target audience for this forum includes registered nurses (RNs), nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), licensed practical and vocational nurses (LPNs/LVNs), and other healthcare professionals who are engaged in clinical practice, education, research, and advocacy for the care of adult and pediatric patients with rheumatic diseases. The content of this education will also be applicable to healthcare professionals new to rheumatology, as well as students considering entering the field of rheumatology.

Accreditation:

Participants will receive 1.0 hour of continuing nursing contact hours, with 1.0 pharmacotherapeutic hours, by completing the education, completing an online evaluation, and receiving a post-test score of 70%.

The Rheumatology Nurses Society is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (Provider No. P0500).

Evaluation Process:

The online evaluation and posttest will be made available at the conclusion of the program. Once completed, your Certificate of Credit and Attendance will be calculated and saved to your online profile. No physical certificates will be provided.
